A Night of Recognition, Respect & Cleveland Music History
On August 12th, I had the pleasure of witnessing a special moment as the BBCI gave great
credit and honor to one of Cleveland’s most respected music producers, Eric Wilson.
The evening was about more than simply recognizing musical accomplishments. It was
about celebrating dedication, creativity, community, and the impact one individual can have
on Cleveland’s music culture.
Mr. Alfred Porter Jr. and Mr. Art McKoy came together to celebrate Eric Wilson and
acknowledge his many achievements and contributions throughout his career.
For Wilson, the recognition carried an even deeper meaning.
During the celebration, Eric shared how good it felt to be honored by Mr. Art McKoy, a
community leader he has looked up to since he was a little boy. That moment represented a
full-circle experience—being recognized by someone who played an important role in the
community and whom Wilson had admired for years.
From Recognition to What's Next
Of course, I had to ask Eric the question every music fan wants to know:
“What’s next on your list?”
Wilson didn’t hesitate to talk about the future.
His newest project, The Confluence Album, is already making noise, with plans to continue
releasing what he describes as some serious “fire” singles. The project is especially
significant because it brings together an impressive collection of talent.
With more than 35 artists featured on the album, The Confluence Album represents a
meeting of different generations and sounds. The project includes both new artists and
established legends, creating what promises to be an exciting musical experience rooted in
Cleveland’s rich culture.
And Wilson isn’t slowing down.
He is also continuing to produce for artists including Layzie Bone, K Chill, and many more
talented artists from the land.
The Confluence: Bringing Cleveland Talent Together
The title Confluence is fitting for a project that brings so many artists, experiences, and
generations together.
Cleveland has always had a unique musical identity, producing artists, producers, DJs, and
creatives who have made their mark far beyond Northeast Ohio. Projects like this help keep
that legacy alive while creating space for the next generation.
Eric Wilson’s work is another reminder that Cleveland’s music scene is filled with stories
that deserve to be heard and people whose contributions deserve to be recognized.
This celebration was one of those moments.
It was about giving flowers while people are here to smell them—and Eric Wilson certainly
deserves his.

the hottest yet.
